Prof. Amit K Roy Chowdhury

• Biography: Amit Roy-Chowdhury received his PhD from the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) in 2002 and joined the University of California, Riverside (UCR) in 2004 where he is a Professor and UC Presidential Chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Cooperating Faculty in Computer Science and Engineering, and Co-Director of the UC Riverside AI Research and Education Institute. He leads the Video Computing Group at UCR, working on foundational principles of computer vision, image processing, and machine learning, with applications in cyber-physical, autonomous and intelligent systems. He has published over 250 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences and two monographs: Person Re-identification with Limited Supervision and Camera Networks: The Acquisition and Analysis of Videos Over Wide Areas. He is on the editorial boards of major journals and program committees of the main conferences in his area. He is a Fellow of the IEEE and IAPR, received the Doctoral Dissertation Advising/Mentoring Award from UCR, and the ECE Distinguished Alumni Award from UMCP.

Prof. Jacek Rumiński

• Biography: Jacek Rumiński is a professor at the Gdańsk University of Technology, a scientist, engineer and teacher in the field of biomedical engineering, computer engineering and computer science. He is the head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics. Prof. Rumiński is a member of the Committee of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is the author of over 200 papers and a number of patent applications in the field of medical imaging, artificial intelligence and quality of life technologies. He has been actively cooperating with international institutions, where he spent over 2 years. He has been a coordinator or investigator in around 20 projects that have received more than 25 awards. Recently, he has carried out European projects under the ChistEra, AAL and ERA PerMed programs. For many years he was an expert in the European Committee CEN/TC 251, delegated by TC 302 of the Polish Committee for Standardization. Prof. Rumiński dynamically cooperates with business stimulating digital transformation (e.g. DIH4.AI Digital Innovation Hub), educating AI specialists (e.g. a member of the AI Tech Program Committee www.gov.pl/web/aitech) and developing innovative research projects (e.g. with BrainScan.AI, Lab4Life). As the president of the AI Bay Club he creates cooperation between scientists, entrepreneurs and recipients of modern technologies.
